Welcome! My name is Alexa Cahill, and I'm a 22-year-old artist with my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University. Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until a couple years ago that I started using acrylics and was fascinated by it. For me, the artwork is a journey in itself as I form shapes and ideas layer after layer. It's always exciting to see where the painting will take me and how it evolves from my imagination on canvas. I strive to create moments where aspects of nature combine with elements of humanity in unique ways. I love to explore our connection with nature both positively and negatively, as well as different ideas of "nature" and how it impacts us as humans. I leave my work open to interpretation and aim to invoke curiosity, emotion and connection with others. I experiment with other mediums as well when my imagination takes me there.
When I'm not working on my art I'm hiking, pursuing photography, or traveling to new places. I am a mental health counselor in prison settings full time and my work is also inspired by my experiences in my career. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to share my art with the world. The support I've received since I began sharing my art has been greater than I could have ever imagined. I am so excited to continue to share my work with you all, and continue to grow as an artist.
Wishing everyone happiness and health, Alexa
